The Plenary Hall of the City of Puigcerdà hosted, on Monday, July 15, the ceremony for the official presentation of the 24th edition of the Cerdanya summer route and its poster of the contest.

The mayor of Puigcerdà, Jordi Gassió, stressed “the importance, at all levels, of having one of the best summer routes in the country in an idyllic location, such as the Cerdanya Valley, here in Puigcerdà.” The board of authorities was also formed by the first deputy mayor, Francesc Armengol and the councilor for sports of the Cerdanya County Council, Mar Quera. Also present were Jordi Bortoló, obstacle jump member of the Catalan Equestrian Federation, who stressed that “having more than 450 horses in competition is a success for the Cerdanya Equestrian Center and for the FCH, which will also hold the Catalan Championship of obstacle jumping next September”, and the Roquet brothers completed the table Puigneró with Javier de Wit, representing the Organizing Committee. Alfons Roquet, director of the competition, remarked “the effort it means for the CO to increase from 4 to 9 national competitions for this season, also recovering the discipline of classical dressage with the two CDN3* recently played, to which we must add the investment made in our facilities in order to maintain and improve our equestrian center so that this edition returns to be a success.”

Next Thursday, July 18, the first week of competitions will begin in Ruta de la Cerdanya with almost 500 horses taking part in all the tests. The competition will consist of 2 CSN3* and 2 CSN4* that will jump until August 13. In between there will be social, team and pony tests. In this edition more than 100,000 euros will be distributed in prizes.
