The FCH mourns the transfer of Eduard Xalabarder
11/3/2024

On Saturday, March 9, the legendary promoter of the Raid in Spain and Catalonia Eduard Xalabarder, father, grandfather of raiding amazons and a passionate fan of this discipline, died in Caldes de Montbui.

Xalabarder was the first to prepare his raid horses with a scientific approach, and was the first major engine of the Spanish raid during the last decades of the last century. He was also national coach and Team Leader in two international competitions, and it was under his guidance and tireless push that the Spanish Raid began to win its first medals at European and world level. Everything that the Catalan Raid is today, is the result, in large part, of his eagerness, work and dedication. The news of his death fills the Raid and the Spanish Horse Riding with grief. The whole Catalan equestrian family joins in the pain of the family and all the friends among whom many of us find ourselves.

His indelible memory will always remain with us. Rest in peace.
