Spanish Raid Championships 2023, can I participate?
18/9/2023

On October 6 and 7 the Spanish Championships of Raid and Interautonomies will be held in Vic, we provide you with the most relevant information below

What are the Championships?

As every year, all the Spanish Championships that are held during the dates of the Championship of the Inter - autonomies contain a variety of tests dedicated to the base Raid from all over Spain and give the possibility to participants from all over Spain to meet in a great weekend of Raid with similar binomials from all corners of Spain.

The Championships are not mutually exclusive, and it is possible that a single participant can participate in several of them on the same weekend if they meet the requirements for it. For example, a binomial could qualify in the Inter-Autonomies of 0* for their community, at the same time be a geneta or amazon Aleví and qualify for that Championship at 0* and their horse also be young and qualify for the Championship of Young Horses.

In the same way, it is also possible to participate in this weekend of Raid without having been selected for some of the teams of 5 binomials of the Inter-autonomies, since the Father/Infant or Young Horses championships are open tests (Open) in which any binomial that meets the requirements of these Championships can register. All the Spanish Championships are run in National mode, which requires having a national license to qualify for the National Championships.

Inter-Autonomy Championships

It is a Championship aimed at the autonomies of all Spain that throughout the year have selected participants, either with a ranking of all their tests, a selection of special tests, classification finals, or any other modality to send a team representing their federation to compete in the basic Raid tests.
It is the ideal way to introduce yourself to high-level events, both for people and horses.

  • Three categories: 0*, Promotion 60km and Promotion 40km
  • It is run exclusively for teams with team classifications in each modality and a general classification of the three.
  • This is basic testing and is therefore limited to genetes and Amazons who have not participated in 2* in the last two years.
  • Horses, at least 5 years old, may participate in the highest category in which they have qualified in the last two years or the immediately lower or higher, but cannot have participated in 2* in the last two years.
  • In Promotion 40km, the race is limited to children under 21 years of age.

Aleví and Children's Championships

It runs in the same categories and distances as Inter.

In the 40km test, riders and Autonomies will be able to participate, but in this case the classification is individual Amazons from 10 years old to 14 years old and only for riders and Amazons from 10 to 16 years old.
In the 60km and 0* race, riders and Amazons from 12 years old to 16 years old will be able to participate.

Young Horses Championships

This Championship is also individual and is run in the same categories. Here participation is limited to horses that have not participated in categories higher than those to which they will compete. The separation of tests is fixed in this case by the age of the horses:
In the 40km and 60km tests, for 5, 6 and 7 year old horses.
In the 0* test on 6, 7 and 8 year old horses.

Criterium Pony Raid Championship

With the aim of studying the feasibility of including a Spanish Raid Championship for Ponies in 2024, the RFHE proposes the participation during the Inter-autonomies of a Critérium of ponies, with tests appropriate to this category.

This Critérium provides for the possibility that clubs, schools and other groups can participate in teams with a teacher/manager who accompanies the participants on a tour adapted to the Pony category:

  • Ponies A (up to 1,10cm) a route of up to 5km in a single phase.
  • Ponies B (up to 1,30cm) a route of up to 10km in two phases.
  • Ponies C (up to 1.50cm) a route of up to 15km in three phases.
