The CSIO Barcelona Academy is born: a milestone in the promotion of Catalan equestrian sport by the RCPB Foundation and the Catalan Equestrian Federation.
In an important step towards the promotion and development of grassroots equestrian sport, as well as in the training and improvement of professionals in the equestrian sector in Catalonia, the RCPB Foundation and the FCH have established a strategic agreement under the auspices of CSIO Barcelona. This agreement leads to the formalization of the CSIO Barcelona Academy, an initiative that seeks to integrate and promote all activities related to the equestrian field within the framework of the prestigious CSIO Barcelona event.
The agreement, signed this morning at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona by Raimon Miret Cots, president of the FCH, and Luis Comas Martínez de Tejada, president of the RCPB Foundation, which will be launched in the coming months, includes a series of short-term actions aimed at boosting both competition and training in the equestrian sector. One of the most outstanding actions is the participation, support and promotion of the Catalan Obstacle Jump Leagues, both for horses and ponies, by the CSIO Barcelona Academy in. These leagues, which take place throughout Catalonia, including the provinces of Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona, aim to support young talents and fans of Catalan equestrian sport.
Likewise, the RCPB will facilitate its facilities for the realization of Jump d'Obstacle clinics promoted by the CSIO Barcelona Academy together with the FCH. These training events, scheduled between October 2024 and March 2025, are aimed at the most prominent riders and Amazons in the leagues, as well as a select group of professional or semi-professional Amazons and riders from Catalonia. The opportunity to learn from renowned coaches and international riders and Amazons is one of the main advantages of these clinics.
On the other hand, the CSIO Barcelona Academy will organize seminars aimed at a wide range of professionals in the equestrian sector, such as teachers, technicians, judges, veterinarians and blacksmiths.
These seminars seek to promote knowledge and good practices, offering specialized training that contributes to the development and professionalization of the sector.
The agreement not only underlines the commitment to the advancement of equestrian sport in Catalonia, but also establishes the CSIO Barcelona Academy as a fundamental pillar for the future of this sport in the region, promoting excellence in competition, training and animal welfare.
