The 160km race, divided into six loops, had the participation of 121 riders and Amazons from around the world, although the demand of the race, especially the terrain, had the consequence that Only 44 binomials finished the race.

The team members had been training in the desert since December to face the race in the best possible conditions, however the increase in temperatures and a slight limp forced three of our riders to retire, leaving Omar Blanco and Jaume Puntí alone in the sixth loop.

In the final stretch His Majesty Sheikh Nasser Al Khalifa, after an exciting final sprint, took home the world gold medal. An Emirati rider won the silver medal and finally Jaume Puntí got the bronze medal. The second Spanish rider, Omar Blanco, followed him very closely, in sixth position.
