The RCPB is hosting a new edition of the Absolute Spanish Classic Dressage Championship, which this year promises to be especially exciting for its pre-Olympics competition character.
With a record total participation of 39 binomials, the event begins on Wednesday, May 29 with the Grand Prix and will run until Sunday.
Among the riders and Amazons participating are Severo Jurado and Borja Carrascosa who arrive from Germany and Pablo Gómez who lands in Barcelona from the United States. Also participating will be Alejandro Asencio, Claudio Castilla, the 2022 medalists, José Antonio García Mena, Daniel Martín Dockx, Alejandro Sánchez del Barco and our Amazon and current champion of Spain, Beatriz Ferrer-Salat, among many other Catalans such as Cristina Wagemans, Lucas Elias, Jordi Domingo, Magin Mateu.
This year, the championship presents a new format in which both the Grand Prix and the Intermediate II of the U25 Spanish Championship, which will also start on Wednesday, will determine the result of the new Spanish Team Championship, for formations of three or four riders from both categories.
On Thursday, the Special Grand Prize will be played, reserved for the best 30 of the first day, where the medals of the Individual Championship - Technical Test - will be awarded, which will be another novelty, since the score will not be cumulative. On Saturday, as a night test, the Kür Grand Prix will take place, with the participation of 18 binomials and only one horse per rider or amazon, proof of which the podium of the Spanish Freestyle Championship will come out.
In addition to these Spanish Championships, the Critèrium Nacional, the Masters in all categories and the Spanish Paralympic Dressage Championship will also be held on the Olympic track of the Barcelona club, which will have the participation of eleven pairs and will take place from Friday to Sunday.
With the presence of the best riders, Amazons and horses in the country, the Absolute Spanish Classic Dressage Championship at the RCPB is shaping up to be an unmissable event for horse riding fans, consolidating itself as a reference event in the Spanish equestrian calendar.
The competition can be followed on ClipMyHorse.tv and the start orders and results can be consulted through the free Equipe application.
Good luck to all!
